System Setup

The only system requirement to run Realfire is that there is Java 8 64 bit JDK is installed in your system (note that Java 8 32bit JDK or Java 9 JDK will not work). You can check if your system has 64 bit Java using following command.

$ java -d64 -version
java version "1.8.0_121"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_121-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.121-b13, mixed mode)

Notice the Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit part, which confirms it is 64 bit. If you have 32 bit JDK, it will give following message.

$ java -d64 -version
This Java instance does not support a 64-bit JVM. Please install the desired version.

If you do have 32 bit JDK, install 64 version of Java as follows.

Mac: Best way to install java in Mac is via Brew. Once you have brew installed execute brew tap caskroom/versions and then brew cask install java8 to install Java 8
